Mai Tai
The Mai Tai came to light in 1944 in Oakland’s Trader Vic’s. There Victor Bergron, one of the founders of the tiki bar, put together this great drink. Over the years the recipe has changed greatly, disguising the rum under layers of fruit.
Ingredients:1 oz light rum
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz orange curacao
1/2 oz orgeat syrup
1 oz dark rum
maraschino cherry for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour all the ingredients except the dark rum into a shaker with ice cubes.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a half filled glass with ice.
