Variety Club Charity event

On 23rd September Sir Cameron Mackintosh of The Mackintosh Foundation presented a Sunshine Coach in association with the musical Oliver to the Variety Club Charity.

As part of its social responsibility Mackintosh’s decided to donate the tea that was served to the children of Canon House and the Varity club after the presentation of the coach.

Sunshine Coaches are the Variety Club’s best known method for providing support and assistance to sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across the entire country. Set up over 45 years ago the coaches have become a symbol for what can be achieved when children are given the opportunity to do whatever they want. Since 1962 more than 4,700 coaches have been on the road. The day started with some of the Variety Club’s disabled children watching a performance of the smash hit production of Oliver. After the show some of the cast of Oliver including Omid Djalili dressed as Fagin, Jodie Prenger dressed as Nancy and Steven Hartley as Bill Sikes presented the children of Canon’s House with their brand new Sunshine Coach.
